Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan was set to do engagement with his girlfriend Natasha Dalal today (April 25). However, due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, the engagement was called off.
Varun and Natasha have been courting for a very long time and rumours were all around in the air that the duo was set to tie the knot soon. Things changed because of the virus as the Indian government announced lockdown restrictions and banned all kind of gatherings across the country.
Coronavirus seems to get stronger with every passing day. Many public gatherings, events and ceremonies have been postponed after health advisories issued by several countries. The governments have requested people to stay at their homes and avoid any unusual activities. The pandemic has also affected on Bollywood. Shooting and releases of upcoming films have been cancelled. Not only this, some of the big-fat ceremonies are also likely to get postponed due to the virus outbreak.
Bollywood love birds Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha were all set to wed in a big-bash ceremony this Summer. Both actors and their families were busy in preparing for their wedding until Coronavirus knocked at the door. After the virus created chaos in many states, the government announced to shut down all wedding halls, banned public gatherings and cancelled flights, forcing no one to travel inside and outside of the country.
The Coronavirus epidemic is also likely to affect Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal’s wedding festivities. The duo was set to exchanged wedding vows this year. However, it seems that their wedding may be postponed as the international guests couldn’t arrive due to the travel ban. An Indian daily claimed that the Dhawan family has decided to postpone the wedding to the second half of 2020.
“The initial plan was to have an intimate wedding on a private island in Thailand, but it was scrapped last month in favour of a destination wedding in Jodhpur. Eventually, they called that off too and were considering having a low-key ceremony in Mumbai. But looking at the current scenario, they have decided to tentatively push the shaadi to November and have reverted to their original choice of destination — Thailand,” the newspaper reported.
