Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik starer The Legend of Maula Jatt is likely to hit the theatres this Eid-ul-Fitr after the producers reach settlement with original filmmakers.
According to details, the movie, that is said to be a remake of Sarwar Bhatti’s 1979 fantasy-thriller that featured legendary actors Sultan Rahi and Mustafa Qureshi in main roles, faced legal troubles by the original creators and the release was delayed due to the lawsuits.

However, it is now being said that Bilal Lashari and Sarwar Bhatti have finally reached an agreement and, after that, the makers of original Punjabi classic movie have withdrawn all lawsuits against the remake.
“I had no issues with the movie. they both [Ammara and Bilal Lashari] are really talented kids. Someone misguided them. But now we are good and I won’t proceed this legal battle any further. I want to watch The Legend of Maula Jatt myself and want to praise the makers,” Sarwar Bhatti said in an interview.

He continued: “I am doing this for their welfare, for the revival of cinema and for giving the much needed boast to Pakistan film industry. I will no longer be a hurdle in the release of The Legend of Maula Jatt. Ammara Hikmat and Bilal Lashari can release their film on Eid-ul-Fitr or on any date they would like to release the film. I will support them.”
What lawsuits did The Legend of Maula Jatt face?
Bilal Lashari’s movie was facing delay since a year after Bhatti filed a lawsuit against the makers claiming that he wasn’t approached for the remake and no one asked for the permission. Soon after Lashari’s announcement, the original producer claimed a violation of copyrights and demanded explanation.
However, now the movie is free from legal turmoil and will be released this year.
