The music-streaming app Patari has announced that it would be introducing a ‘Mute’ button for its subscribers soon so that they can mute certain artists they don’t want to listen while using the app.
Patari, in a post on their official Facebook account, said that the Mute button would be activated after the approval by Patari board.
“Members of the Patari board have requested a review of a new track and subsequent promotion of a music act on the platform. This review may also take public feedback into consideration. Patari is currently looking into technology for a user filter which will potentially allow listeners to mute or select artists according to their own choices and requirements. We will do this in the spirit of transparency and will keep you updated on such developments. Thank you,” Patari wrote in a Facebook post.
The development came after the music streaming app was criticised by its users and other social media users over posting a promotional video of singer, actor and DJ Mohsin Abbas Haider from his new song Rooh.

The fan and followers of Patari seemed not happy to see Mohsin Abbas Haider’s face on the app and wrote to the music -streaming app that they were going to uninstall the app. Some were of the view that a person who is accused of domestic violence should not be promoted like this. While some demanded ban on the singer and said that the upcoming songs of Haider should be removed already.
However, we could be wrong in making this impression about the app’s connection with the criticism. Maybe Patari was thinking about adding a mute button for long and they got the chance to announce the development after the review by the board.
Whatever it is, but fans seemed happy with the announcement. They didn’t criticise the app on this, instead, they were glad that they would now be able to sort their favorite artists and mute all the others they don’t like to listen to.
