The event of Oscars took place recently and it was just amazing. Movies including Joker, Ford v Ferrari, The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit and many more received the awards. But the movie to receive most awards was not from the Hollywood. Yes, it was a South Korean movie which won 6 Oscars in 2020. Parasite won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Production Design and Best Film Editing.
Parasite became one of the most-discussed films of the year after receiving mega titles at the grand event. The South Korean release, directed by Bong Joon-Ho, ended the charm of Joaquin Phoenix starrer Joker, Sam Mendes’ 1917 and other big hits at the box office after winning the Best Film at the Academy Awards.
The Bong Joon-Ho directorial has now added another feather into the hat and reached yet another milestone. According to reports, Parasite has now become the highest grossing foreign-language film in UK box office history. The Oscar-winning horror-thriller has surpassed Mel Gibson directorial 2004 movie The Passion Of The Christ as biggest ever foreign language film.
