Fans and followers of ARY Digital’s record-breaking drama Meray Paas Tum Ho today watched final episode of the drama after waiting for two weeks since the creators announced to delay the episode.
The final episode was screened in cinemas across Pakistan and on RY Digital’s online app named ‘ZAP’. According to reports, a big number of people thronged the cinemas and grabbed the tickets of first show to enjoy the drama.
Before the episode, everyone was suggesting how the drama would end. Some said that Danish, the main character of the drama played by celebrated actor Humayun Saeed will forgive his wife Mehwish, played by Ayeza Khan, whilst some said that one of them will die in the end.
However, writer of the drama, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar had said in an interview that no one would die in the end and he did not want to give an ending like Pyarey Afzal in which the hero [Hamza Ali Abbasi] dies in the end.
KRQ said he wanted a happy ending this time and wanted everyone to remember Meray Paas Tum Ho forever. In an interview, he opened up about the ending of the top-rated drama and spilled beans about death of Danish. He said:
“Everyone might be praying that there should be a happy ending [of the drama]. I was at the airport yesterday where a group of girls came to me asked if I was ‘going to kill Danish’ [laughs]. I told them not to make any story by themselves and just wait for Saturday. They will know what happens. They seems much confident that I will kill Danish so they pleaded that I should not kill him. I told them I am a writer, not a killer. And this is only a story, so everyone should treat it like a story!,” he said.
But seems that the writer did not want people to know what he was bringing for them and he wanted everyone to keep guessing about the ending. And turns out that the fans already knew what would happen. Today, in the final episode of the drama, Danish suffers a heart attack after meeting Mehwish and dies in the end.
Soon after the ending, hundreds of thousands of people took to Twitter and other social media tabs to express their feelings about the drama. Some seemed happy with the ending whereas some criticised the writer for giving same ending like Pyarey Afzal.
But do the comments and criticism really matter? Especially when you reach top of the ratings table and leave everyone else behind? No way, the drama became a big hit and the final episode broke all the records.
