Director Kabir Khan has decided to postpone the release of his upcoming movie 83 until the situation created by the Novel Coronavirus normalizes.
83 is a biopic on former legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. The movie stars Ranveer Singh as the cricketer and Deepika Padukone as his wife Romi Dev. It was set to release this month, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie release has now been turned down by the director.
“83 is a film that has been envisioned and made to be experienced on the big screen and we are ready to wait for things to get normal and then release it in cinemas,” said Kabir Khan.
The movie, which traces India’s historic 1983 cricket world cup win, is produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd.
