Bollywood has been a great place for Pakistani stars to showcase their talent across the border and gain porominence. Many big names of Pakistan including Adnan Sami, Atif Aslam, Ali Zafar, Javed Sheikh, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Sajal Aly, Adnan Siddiqui, Saba Qamar and others went to India to work in Bollywood. Where some of them happily took the opportunity, there are some who refused to take any offer. Cheekh famed actor Emmad Irfani is one among them.
Emmad recently spoke about getting offer to work in aq Bollywood movie which featured super lady Kareena Kapoor. During an interview with Iffat Omar, the actor said that he was approached by the director of 2018 Indian comedy Veere Di Wedding, however, things didn’t work in his favor due to political tensions between both countries.
“To be ruthlessly honest, I was upset. We had to begin the shooting from September 2016. But what happened was that Kareena was expecting at that point, so she said that she will resume shooting after delivering the baby. So the shooting was delayed for a year and a lot changed during that time,” he said.
Emmad also revealed that he’s a true patriot and at first he was hesitating to accept the offer.
“I am a big nationalist now and I want Pakistan to do well… If they are not respecting us than we don’t need to go there. Or if they are not welcoming us, than we don’t need to portray that we are dying to work with them… We don’t need them. I think we should make a mark with our own identity,” the model-turned-actor said.
