Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a historical drama which is based on the Maratha empire’s military leader Tanhaji Malusare. It is directed by filmmaker Om Raut. The film is set to release tomorrow [10 January] and is expected to clash with Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak. However, the competition between the two movie seems not so tough as Deepika starer is already facing too much controversies. Let’s see who wins the race.
Film pundits are expecting Ajay Devgn-starer movie to cross the 100-crore milestone in the first three days after its release. Film lovers are eagerly waiting to see Saif Ali Khan in the character of Uday Bhan in the movie.
Ajay Devgn, while praising Saif’s acting and talking about choosing him to play the role, said:
“We wanted someone who could emote and depict the character well as he is at loggerheads with Tanhaji. We wanted one who’d be wicked and quirky. The idea was to find an actor with gravitas. Saif was perfect for the role. We’ve gotten along well right from our first film, Kacche Dhaage [ 1999] and then, Omkara [ 2006]. We narrated the script, and he instantly liked it. Even though we didn’t work together as much as we should have [in the past], I am glad we collaborated on this film.”
