Raj Kumar Gupta directorial movie Raid is getting a sequel. Bhushan Kumar, the producer of 2018 hit, has revealed that the script of the second part is being written and it will also be based on a real-life story. The sequel will also feature Ajay Devgn in the lead role.
The first instalment of Raid, written by Ritesh Shah, was inspired by the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department. The plot of the movie tells that the raid was conducted under the leadership of a courageous and upright Indian Revenue Service officer.
“Raid 2 is going to pay a rich tribute to those who work without wearing any uniform,” said the filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta.
The movie is expected to go on the floors next year (2021).
Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan must be happy to see their recently released movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior being unbeatable at box office. The period drama has crossed the 20-crore mark and it’s still in the race of highest grossing movies.
Tanhaji, starring Ajay, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles, was released on January 10. The movie is second highest grossing film of Ajay Devgn after Golmaal Again and the earnings of the movie stand at Rs 202.83 crores and it still continues to score. Film pundits are predicting that the movie is expected to become Devgn’s highest-grossing film.

Adarsh says that the period drama is highest grosser of Kajol and Saif Ali Khan. Earlier, he had said in one of his tweets that the collections of Tanhaji on day 6 were Rs 16.72 crore, surpassing the film’s earnings on its first, fourth and fifth days and has managed to attract a steady stream of cinema-goers even on weekdays.
